WP 7.8 comes early in 2013

The update for current Windows Phones is probably much anticipated, and now we have a somewhat indicative release timeframe. Unfortunately the Windows Phone users won't get to enjoy the new update during the christmas time.

Microsoft will roll out the update "early" next year, which is likely to disappoint a lot of users. The update, however, will also expand the choices of live tile colors, increasing the total count to 20. Needless to mention, the update will also bring the WP8 style live tiles that can be resized beyond the limits of 7.5.

Microsoft's latest version of the Windows Phone platform doesn't work on older WP devices, like Nokia's Lumia 800 and 900, and the version 7.8 will be the substitute for the features in WP 8.

There were no information on following updates after the version 7.8, so that's still to be seen.
