No Windows Phone 7.8 update after all, for now

We just recently told you about an update available for the Nokia Lumia 800, and that it would be the WP 7.8 for older Windows Phone devices.

This turned out to be just a test run. Some people have reported getting the 7.8 update, but the real deal will be coming in early 2013 like it was first supposed to.

The updated devices are pre-production models making them eligible for the test update. This has been confirmed by a Nokia personnel.

So, now you can stop refreshing the Zune app for updates, since it's not coming for a while. A little more patience, and the update will be rolled right to your device after the holidays.
