Jolla will introduce Sailfish OS today (Updated)

The Finnish startup company Jolla will introduce the Sailfish OS today which is based on the MeeGo platform that Nokia used in the Nokia N9.

As Nokia decided to bury the great operating system, some of Nokia's ex-employees thought that the platform is too good to be thrown away just like that, and that's how Jolla started.
The event will be streamed live globally, and the keynote takes place at 11:15 EET (9:15 GMT) today at the Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki, Finland. The event is hosted by Slush and will last two days.

In the future, Jolla will produce devices running the Sailfish OS and their own UI. The shortage of apps have been solved with the fact that most Android compatible apps should run on Sailfish with no changes at all. Still, that is left to be seen and I'll be looking forward for more info on that.

Update: MTV3 has posted a video demoing the Sailfish OS, and you can find the video here. Scroll down and click on the box that says "Katso".
