As you might already be aware of, here at nikosite.net we are big fans of Samsung Android phones. Some of us have been with Sammy since the release of the original GT-i9000, the Original Galaxy S. Samsung offers some of the best smartphones thanks to the high end hardware they pack and the nice features that they overlay Android with. However, this article isn't about how nice Samsung's phones are, we are here to talk about the next big thing, the Galaxy S IV.

Recently the S IV, what may be the most anticipated smartphone in the history of Android, was featured on Antutulabs' website. Several images were shown, on of which gave the model number GT-i9500 for the upcoming smartphone. While it has not been officially confirmed that this is indeed the Galaxy S IV, we can speculate.
Among the details that were leaked we are able to confirm that Sammy's upcoming superphone will feature the Exynos 5 Octa-core SoC. However, in a bit of an unexpected turn, the GPU will not be provided by PowerVr, and instead will continue to be provided by ARMs own Mali chip in the form of the Mali T-658, which should pack even more performance than the T-605 used with the Dualcore Exynos 5 in the Nexus 10.

As we know, the Nexus 10 is insanely fast, even if applications like Antutu and Quadrant rank it below the Note II and other top end phones. This is most likely due to the benchmarks not fully supporting the Cortex a-15 architecture, which should result in lower-than-expected numbers. If you recall, not more than a year ago dual core phones were not shown to be much faster than single core phones until benchmarks optimized testing for multiple cores.
Currently, the Exynos 5 Dual scores in the range of 14,000 points on the Antutu benchmark, which is significantly lower than the Note II's 18,000 average. However, the leaked images show the new smartphone scoring in the 19,000 range, well above even the Note II despite the probable lack of optimization. This is very exciting as this new SoC could compete with Intel's new Atom Chips found on the Lenovo k900, which scores around 30,000 in the antutu benchmark.
Among the details we have uncovered that the New Samsung device will be clocked at 1.8 GHz and will run Android 4.2.1 out of the box.
