Mozilla's Firefox team and Microsoft's IE developer teams have had it a tradition for a long time to remember the competitor for important launches with a cake.
The Firefox developer Matt Brubeck says the tradition started when the Mozilla foundation released Firefox 2.0, and the IE team sent a cake with a IE-logo to congratulate them.
Firefox continued to receive the congratulatory cake until the 4th version of Firefox, when they moved to the faster updating policy, and the cake changed to a muffin.
Though, now that the IE 10 has been released, the Firefox team has sent a cake to congratulate the IE team for the launch.
Internet Explorer thanked Firefox for celebrating the IE 10 launch on Twitter:
Thanks to @firefox for helping celebrate #IE10 launch w/ cake! We look forward to Firefox for #windows8 soon! twitter.com/IE/status/2619…
