Exynos 5 Octa looking to destroy the competition

The SoC market is literally going nuts right now. The Tegra 4 looked to destroy the Exynos 5 Dualcore with twice as many Cortex a-15 cores, which according to nVidia delivers performance that is absolutely outrageous. Exynos doesn't want to be left behind, of course, and so they have announced the Exynos 5 Octocore, that's right, 8 CPU Cores to power your tablet and smartphones.

Now, even SoC manufacturers know that there is a certain limit that should not be surpassed when it comes to SoC performance, after all, it's a smartphone, not a workstation PC. The 8 core exynos is not designed for raw power, actually, 4 of the cores are cortex a-9, which should essentially deliver similar performance as the Galaxy S III. The other 4 Cores are Cortex a-15, which should deliver insane amounts of performance, even more than the Snapdragon S4 Pro and the current Exynos 5250.
One of the more exciting pieces of information Samsung told us about the Exynos 5 Octo is that its graphics will be powered by a PowerVR SG544MP3, a big step up from the Mali 604 powering the Exynos 5 Dual Core and the Mali 400MP powering the Note II and S III. Actually, the performance should be similar to that of the iPad 4, which is the current King of Mobile Graphics.
It's promising to know this as it shows that the Exynos 5 Octo is just too powerful for the current generation of ARM Mali Graphics.
All left to do is wait for the next Galaxy Device as it is likely that we will see the new Exynos Chip unleashed then.
