Apple lost rights to iPhone brand in Brazil

A Brazilian company called Gradiente Electronica had sued Apple for the iPhone brand in Brazil.

Even though their first iPhone branded device was announced and released for market last December, the court fight ended in the Brazilian company's favor, as they had registered the iPhone brand as early as in the year 2000.

This is one of the main reasons why Apple tried to appeal on trying to get the brand to themselves. Gradiente Electronics have not declared a ban for Apple's usage on the brand in Brazil, which is why Apple's producs are still on the market.

The Brazilian company is on the course to continue selling their iPhone Neo One Android device in Brazil.

No surprise is that Apple is going to appeal on the verdict.
