Apple cuts iPhone part orders due to low demand

Apple's latest iPhone 5 hasn't seen a huge amount of popularity on the market.

According to the WSJ, the company has reduced their orders for iPhone 5 displays by roughly 50% for the first quarter of 2013. Also orders for other parts than the displays have been cut.

In Q4 2011, Apple's global market share on smartphone shipments was around 23%, and by Q3 2012 that number went down with a rattle to 14.6%.

This might be bad news for Apple, but Samsung's products seem to have picked up, as their global market share rose to 31.3% during the third quarter of 2012.
