Windows Phone device sales quadrupled since last year

Microsoft has announced that the sales of devices running their Windows Phone platform  have now, not doubled, but quadrupled since last year.

Even though four times more sounds big, it's proportionate. Windows Phone wasn't really popular before, and meaning the sales weren't that big, four times more is certainly good for them, but doesn't mean the sales would be nowhere near the same level as Android device sales.

Since Nokia and Microsoft signed a strategic collaboration in 11th February last year, Nokia has been manufacturing Windows Phone devices, and have reached mediocre popularity, but compared to other Windows Phone manufacturers, the sales figures are completely through the roof.

Especially the Lumia 920, running the WP8 version has been welcomed warmthly in Finland. Looking at the statistics, the 8th version is much more popular than the 7th.

Windows Phone is said to bypass iOS in 2016, but that it would never pass Android in popularity. That is yet to be discovered, but for now, the results look good for both Microsoft and Nokia.
