Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is a go

If you would love to have an Android device in your pocket, but the display sizes nowadays are too much for you, Samsung has the cure for you.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini version has been officially announced, but it's not exactly what we would've expected. Now, even though Samsung decided to call the device Galaxy S III Mini, it's far from the Galaxy S III.

It packs a Dual-core 1GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with ST-Ericsson NovaThor chipset, a 4 inch WVGA resolution display with PenTile matrix, 1 GB RAM, and the display will be powered up with a Mali-400 GPU.

A very good news is that the phone will run Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and have the goodies that the Galaxy S III has.

The camera on this little buddy is a 5 MP snapper with a LED-flash, capable of shooting 720p video. There is also a front facing camera, but the resolution is left at VGA.

Judged by the specs, I'd say this is rather a Galaxy S II suited up as a little brother for the Galaxy S III, and with a smaller display. Did Samsung name it after the S III only to get more sales for it?
