Nokia's result came out better than expected

I bet there is no one out there who wouldn't know about Nokia's struggles. However, now the changes that have been made seem to have started to bear fruit for the phone giant.
Nokia sold 4.4 million Lumia smartphones in Q4 last year. The Devices & Services department report €2.5 billion net sales, of which almost a half (€1.2 billion) is from smartphone sales.
It's good to mention that Nokia counts their Asha lineup devices as smartphones, as well.

Nokia sold 79.6 million phones, of which 9.3 million were Ashas and 6.6 million are actual smartphones. Lumias get a decent cut of 4.4 million sold, while their Symbian based smartphones sold 2.2 million units.
Nokia's glory seems to be on the rise, and that can be seen with no effort in Finland already. People walking around with a Lumia in their hands certainly looks good for Nokia.
