Nokia's Maps are now Nokia Here

One of Nokia's main strengths is the great Maps application, which provides the user a free and reliable navigation service. Google's Maps also provide their users a free navigation service, but it's not available in so many countries.

In fact, just a couple months ago Google released a beta version of their navigation service for their Finnish users, and with the little experience I have with it I have to say it worked quite well.

However, back on the subject, the best part of the rebranding is that Nokia will soon bring the awesome Nokia Maps experience for Android and iOS users as well. Nokia will also provide Android OEMs the maps SDK to integrate with their own apps.

Now to the rest of the good this change brings. Nokia Here will bring a lot of features on the table, one of them being Collections. Collections, in other words, is like bookmarking a location on the map so that you can access it quickly.

Technically it's like the starring feature in Google Maps. Your Collections will be synced with your Nokia account, and will be available on any device where you're logged in to your Nokia account.

If you'd like to see the here maps, head this way
