Nokia Rules Windows Phone

Not many manufacturers are currently jumping on the Windows phone boat for several reason, the main being that Android has turned out to be extremely profitable for most smartphone makers. However, Nokia, a company well known for its innovative technology and top-notch quality decided to give Microsoft's OS a try not too long ago. Today, Nokia makes the flagship Windows phone, the Lumia 920. How is Nokia faring against the HTC and Samsung competition?

Recent reports show that Nokia currently holds 75% of the Windows Phone market, showing just how great Nokia's smartphones can be. Even running an overall less popular OS like Windows Phone, Nokia manages to pack the right features in the right package, making their phones far more attractive than the HTC and Samsung WP devices. Unfortunately, while Nokia Dominates the Windows Phone Market, Windows Phone has struggled to gain a mainstream status in a world dominated by Android and iOS. This means for Nokia less profits than they had hoped to see.

Oddly enough most people see Windows Phone as budget alternatives to Android and iOS devices. This doesn't help Nokia or Microsoft as generally people see "budget" electronics as a cheap imitation of higher end electronics, meaning that people generally shy-away in fear of buying something that isn't as good as another smartphone. This seems a bit silly to a lot of us but appears to be the sad truth; Nokia and even HTC have a far more "premium" build quality than Samsung devices do all while managing to pack similar internal hardware and features, and yet Samsung outsells both manufacturers by millions every year.

Hopefully Windows Phone will continue to grow in the future, allowing Nokia to gain the status it has deserved for some time now. Or perhaps Nokia will look for new opportunities in the near future which will allow it to expand and gain a higher status among smartphone manufacturers.
