LTE on the Exynos 5450 after all

As you might already know, the Galaxy S IV will be shipping out to most countries with a Snapdragon 600 chip. Originally most people, including us here at nikosite, believed that this was necessary in order for the Galaxy S IV to support LTE. In the past, Exynos Chips haven't been particularly good about supporting LTE, in which case using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 would make a lot of sense despite being less powerful and efficient than the Exynos chips. It turns out, however, that this isn't necessarily true.

A tweet from Samsung Exynos from yesterday confirms that the New Exynos "Octo" does indeed support LTE; in fact, it supports all 20 bands being used around the world. This makes us wonder a bit what's going on with Samsung; they are about to start shipping their flagship for 2013 with the second best chip on the market. Why?
Although we know nothing as of know, some might speculate that Samsung is waiting to release the Note III or another flagship in which the Exynos "Octo" will debut. This is exactly what happened in 2012 with the Galaxy S III, which shipped with a Qualcomm chip to many countries in order to support LTE, although some International Exynos-based Galaxy S III models were released. The Note II released around the world with LTE support boasting an overclocked Exynos 4412 chip.

Might Samsung be looking to do the same again this year, but to a larger scale? Let us know in a comment below!
