Galaxy SIII mini coming your way-- watch out folks, Samsung is planning to release, or at least showcase, a new variant of the hit Galaxy S III superphone, deemed the Galaxy S III mini.
According to reliable rumors, the Galaxy S III mini, as suggested by its name, is simply a miniature Galaxy S III. The main, and maybe only, difference between the mini and the original is the screen size, which as suggested by the name, has shrunk from 4.7 inches to only 4 inches, the size of the iPhone 5’s screen. If you’re at all like me, you may be asking yourself: why? After all, bigger is better, right?
Well, not to all. According to some research, Europe is in need for a 4 inch phone. Samsung, being ready to deliver what customers want, responds with a smaller version of the Galaxy S III.
On top of that reasoning, it makes sense for Samsung to release a 4 inch phone since one of the biggest drawbacks of the Galaxy S III for some users is it’s massive size. With the Galaxy Note II at a massive 5.5 inches, the Galaxy S III at a more modest 4.7 inches and the Galaxy S III Mini at a smaller 4 inches, Samsung is making sure to cover all of the bases to make more customers happy, and of course, to be able to compete with other smartphone manufacturers.
As stated, the only difference between the Mini and the original S III is the screen size. The Mini packs the same quadcore Exynos processor 1.4 GHz, the mali 400mp graphics chip and a gigabyte of RAM memory. According to rumors the device will also come in 8 and 16 GB Nand memory options, also like the S III.
Let’s hope that Samsung makes the Galaxy S III mini every bit as good as the Galaxy S III. For now, let’s just wait for the announcement tomorrow in Germany.
